Unfortunately, currently (Dec. 2021) there is a ban on bicycles on the entire route Maciot - Femes roundabout LZ2.
No apparent reason as the road is OK, apparently considered "too steep". Locals say the police are checking, I missed the sign and there was no problem, nevertheless, unfortunately, be careful.

It's really a shame for Lanzarote that people are putting up with a ban on bicycles. This little road is absolutely great, in any other (mountain) place in the world no one would have a problem. There must have been accidents in which drivers lost their way and instead of solving the problem in the way that would make sense today - banning through traffic and tourist carts - they just exclude cyclists. There is only one route left to drive from Yaiza to Playa Blanca and it is terrible. It's time for a rethink here.

The climb was steep, but once you arrive here, the view compensates for all the hardships.
Unfortunately, this does not come across as great on the pictures as it is in reality. The view down to the coast to Playa Blanka is just breathtaking!
