The Reserva Ecológica El Ángel (REEA) is a nature reserve in northern Ecuador, province of Carchi, in the parishes of La Libertad and El Ángel del cantón Espejo. It has an extension of 16541 hectares,[1] with altitudes ranging from 3400 to 4200 m asl, with soils that retain a large quantity of water, so that it is considered a real "smudge" that supplies the entire province of Carchi with the vital liquid provided.
