The church was built in 1756, previous buildings on the same site can be traced back to 1179, but probably existed much earlier.
In 1973 and 1974, the late baroque hall was significantly expanded to the west and redesigned on the inside. The high bell tower to the east of the chancel dates back to the Romanesque period and received its bell storey in 1923. Inside there is a fresco from 1760 by Paul Rammelkammer and three baroque wooden figures. The building also has a former choir flank tower, which is no longer used as such.
