The Gestelsemolen in Paal (near Lummen) is a water mill on the Zwarte Beek that was built before 1775. Although Gestel is a hamlet of the municipality of Lummen, the mill building is located just across the border with Paal. The building has been renovated and serves as a residence. Despite the modernization, you can still clearly see remnants of the mill past. In 2004, a nature development project was carried out near the Gestelse Molen. Some old fish ponds were made more nature-friendly. A connection with twelve fish ladders ensures that fish can bridge a height difference of 1.60 meters between the Zwarte Beek and the Oude Beek.

The Gestelsemolen is a grain water mill that was built before 1700. Major renovation work was carried out in 1929, during which the interior and exterior were completely renovated. Since the Oude Beek had too much fall, a new one was dug so that the water supply could be better regulated. After WWII the mill was used less and less and has not been ground since 1970. In 1987, the mill house was thoroughly renovated and converted into a home.
