Anayet Lakes

The Anayet lakes are located at an altitude of 2,200m below two peaks: El Vértice de Anayet and El Pico de Anayet, both of volcanic origin.

The trail runs through the glacial reliefs of Canal Roya and reaches the base of the La Rinconada wall, where a waterfall falls when the Anayet lakes have excess water. Although it looks like a terrible wall, the layout of the path makes good use of the terraces and the climb is quite comfortable for what it looks like. The final section crosses the edge of the walls and enters the plain where the Anayet lakes are located. The broken summit of the Midi d'Ossau seems to sprout from the surface of the lake and around it the volcanic crown of Anayet and its jewels of mineral colors surrounding the enormous lacustrine crater, a unique place.

The Anayet lakes are a set of small glacial lakes in the Aragonese Pyrenees.
