Once a Carmelite or Benedictine Friary, Lady's Abbey is well off the beaten track. Against the backdrop of the Knockmealdown Mountains it is a beautiful place to explore. According to local legend, a woman called Sarah Maguire begged to be buried in the ruins of the abbey as she had dreamt if she did so, she wouldn't have to spend time in Purgatory. She is said to be buried within the walls. Look out for her headstone which reads, 'Here lies ye remains
