Scenic Ridge Path Between Niederhorn and Gemmenalphorn

The path leads from the Niederhorn to the Burgfeldstand (and then further in the direction of the Gemmenalphorn) always quite close to the edge of the rock. There are fascinating views of the steep cliff edge and to the north-west down into the deeply cut high valley with farmsteads and the steep rock chain on the other side of the valley with rock peaks over 2000 m high (such as the Rothorn and Mittaghorn). To the southwest, the views extend along the rock faces and through the valley to Lake Thun and the peaks behind Spiez, such as the striking Niesen near Wimmis. To the south and southeast there are great, wide views of the impressive chain of the Bernese High Alps with the famous and striking triumvirate Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
