The Watzmann is the central mountain massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The well-known limestone massif culminates in the 2713 m above sea level. NHN high Watzmann central peak, which is also the highest point of the Berchtesgadener Land. The Watzmannsage is entwined around the Watzmann and its subsidiary summits Kleiner Watzmann (also called Watzmannfrau or Watzfrau) and Watzmannkinder. The Watzmann east wall is the highest wall of the Eastern Alps.
Highly recommended is a tour to the Hocheck. On a clear day you can see a large part of the Bavarian Alps and the Berchtesgadener Land.

The overnight stay in the Watzmannhaus prepared me well for the following day and the exceedance. I would not have wanted to exceed the limit in one day.
