On the dune, at the fork of the roads from Kozienice to Puławy and to the Bąkowiec railway station, next to the railway crossing, there is a preserved war cemetery of fallen soldiers from World War I, resting place of soldiers of the Russian, Austro-Hungarian and German armies (including Poles), related with the Battle of Dęblin in October 1914 and the fights in 1915. The Battle of Dęblin was a fragment of a German-Austrian operation aimed at crossing the Vistula River and throwing the Russians back to the east, but it ended with the Central Powers' armies bleeding out and having to retreat. The Russians went on a counter-offensive, but did not use the opportunity to continue the victorious operation.
Concrete stairs lead to the cemetery; it is surrounded by a concrete fence. The quarters are marked by curbs on both sides of the alley leading to the metal cross. On a small wall at the foot of the dune, there is a modern board informing about this object. No names of fallen soldiers.
