The memorial stone is located between the sports facility of the Max Planck High School Saarlouis and the dog sports facility at the gas works. The artillery depot of the train barracks was located here, in what was then the ring battery of the redoubt Choisy. On September 14, 1916, a devastating explosion catastrophe occurred in this depot, killing almost 100 people and injuring just as many, some of them seriously.
