This sugarhouse was used up until the early 1990’s. Sugarhouses are where the raw maple sap is refined into world-famous Vermont Maple Syrup. This particular sugarhouse was the heart of Jerry Kirchner's Maple Syrup company. Kirchner owned and maintained this land before donating it to the town. You can still see steel pipes and the dumping stations used for collecting maple sap, as well as some neatly stacked collecting buckets around the sugarhouse. This is a neat place to explore and get insight into the rich history of maple syrup production in Vermont.
