Altishofen Castle is a late-Gothic country mansion, similar to the one found in the canton of Lucerne at Mauensee and Wartensee.
The castle was built in 1571 "by the Swiss king" Ludwig Pfyffer.
In the years 1982/1983 the outside of the castle was renovated. The interior renovation then took place in the years 1985/1986.
In Altishofen, the "Klösterli" wing right next to the castle is part of the impressive overall complex. It is an essential part of the complex and was completely renovated in 2016.
