Fortress Ridge Lookout sits along the Fortress Ridge Walking Track and offers wide views across the Jamison Valley. From the exposed sandstone ridge, you can see Mount Solitary rising prominently from the valley floor, with layers of blue-tinged escarpments stretching into the distance. The open ridge gives this lookout a more expansive, less sheltered feel than many others in the Blue Mountains.

There are no barriers at the edge, and the rock surface can be uneven, so take care as you approach the cliff line. On clear days, the long valley views are especially striking.
