While out for a run take a moment to stop and have a look at the following two rock formations - it’s not often that you get to see the marks of human habitation from between 2,500 and 3,500 years ago!

There are Neolithic cup and ring markings sighted slightly away from Gardoms Edge. The actual rock is buried here to protect the art and what you see is a full-scale replica of the rock and art. It looks authentic but doesn't feel right. Standing nearby is what is suggested to be a seasonal sundial stone. The north side of the stone is in permanent shadow through the winter. This is believed to have originated between 1,500 and 2,500 years BCE, and was erected in the Neolithic or early Bronze age.
