You'll have to pay close attention to spot the small trailhead sign that leads you onto the DuPont Trail instead of down a private lane.
Once you're on the trail, watch out for exposed roots and rocks, and general trail erosion, as you work your way through Jurassic-Park-style vegetation toward DuPont Beach.
Expect to spend quite a bit of time walking on boardwalks and plank bridges that help cover some of the irregularities in the forest floor. This can be fun, like an adult jungle gym, on dry days — or a slippery mess on wet days.

Running
This is a technical run (due to lots of tree roots in the trail) that sometimes feels more like a jungle gym than a trail, especially when you have to break stride for a narrow plank bridge. But that's half the fun for the people who run it. Do take care, however, because even walkers sometimes find themselves turning an ankle out here. The trail is more runnable after a stretch of dry weather.
