Running

The company founder, Adam Opel, began building sewing machines in Rüsselsheim in 1862. In 1886, bicycles were added to the production and from 1899 the construction of motor vehicles was added. In 1924, the legendary Opel "Tree Frog" was the first model to roll off the assembly line. Today, the company's headquarters are home to the factory headquarters, the International Technical Development Center and the automobile factory. The Opel factories are part of the Rhine-Main Industrial Heritage Route.
