One of the beautifully situated villages of the Manětín region is the very old village of Luková, which lies on the slope of the striking Chlumská hora hill overlooking the countryside. Today it is almost uninhabited and is largely used only for recreational purposes in the summer season. Already in the first half of the 20th century it was one of the lively villages with a school and the medieval parish church of St. George, which defies time in the shade of the trees and bushes growing in the old cemetery.

Small monuments from the 19th century are recorded in the chronicle for the parish and the surrounding area. In 1834 a new chapel was built in Mezí for 509 zlotys. In 1851, with the great support of two grunts, the village of Mezí procured a new bell for the chapel, which weighed 50 pounds and cost 51 zloty, and the old broken bell was given to the bell ringer in Pilsen. In 1839-43 a chapel dedicated to St. Vaclav was built in Domašín. In 1851 it was built in Lukové kříž near the cemetery. In 1851, farmer Johan Postl built a chapel from No. 20 in Zhořec. In 1890, a wooden cross was erected in Luková, and on the way to Mezí, the dilapidated one was replaced with a new wooden cross. In 1905, a farmer from Mezí Rössler had a stone cross built on the road to Ujezd. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, a new bell was purchased for the chapel in Zhořec and a stone cross in Holubí mlýn
