The artwork Siberia is at Akranesvita á Breið. The artist Elsa María Guðlaugs Drífudóttir and her father Guðlaugur Maríasson installed the artwork in 2017, but the work was bought by Akraneskaupstað. At its meeting on January 14, 2016, the town council agreed to buy the work after receiving the opinion of the culture and museum committee. The companies Smellinn, who poured the plinth under the work, and Vélaleiga Halldórs also supported the installation of the artwork, but they also donated sand which is also used for the foundation. The artwork was made in the summer of 2015 north of Árneshreppi in Strändi from driftwood that had been taken there from the beach. The work was moved south and shown on Vigils in Akranes that fall. It is believed that the majority of all wood that drifts to Iceland comes from Siberia.
