Tips

  • "The Evangelical Lutheran St. Martin's Church in Dautphe, a district of the municipality of Dautphetal in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district (Hesse), is a listed church building that consists of three buildings. The hall church was built in the 11th century, in the 12th century a western extension, the so-called Wendelstein, was added, and at the end of the 13th century an eastern choir tower was added. According to dendrochronological studies, the roof structure dates from 1088, making it the oldest in Germany and one of the oldest in Europe."
