Festival of Flavors and Knowledge of Vizzini

Traditional Ricotta and Cheese Festival in Vizzini (CT) on 24 and 25 April 2023. The "Festival of Flavors and Knowledge in the lands of Verga" is an event rich in folklore, gastronomy and shows, but the absolute protagonists will be, like always, ricotta and cheeses.

The event which has now become the Festa dei Sapori e Saperi is celebrated in a setting that enhances folklore, craft and gastronomic traditions. The scents of Sicilian cuisine spread through the streets of the city amidst applause, colors and enthusiasm. An event with a great history and participation of people from all over the island in the celebration of the peasant tradition of making ricotta and cheese.

During the days of the festival, Vizzini, Giovanni Verga's native land, proposes a rich program of culinary delicacies and cultural initiatives, parades of carts, Sicilian costumes and flag-wavers.
It is advisable to arrive very early due to too much confusion.
