Reaching the Green Knob Summit requires sure-footedness, as it is a bit steep and rocky and requires minor scrambling. Views of the Blue Ridge and Black Mountain ranges are excellent at this location. Be prepared to climb about 1,000 feet of elevation in one mile to reach the top of Green Knob.
