Now in ruins, Rinville House (sometimes known as Renville) was built in 1820 as the home of the Lynch-Athy family. They had previously lived in Rinville castle and it was common at this time for wealthy families such as theirs to move from living in castles to much more luxurious and modern grand houses. The house was destroyed by a fire in 1976 and is easily recognisable by the mass of ivy clinging to its walls.
