The ancient building complex of Wangjiang Pavilion are Hist in the Sixth Batch of Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. They locate in the Wangjianglou Park in the Jinjiang District of Chengdu, were initially built in the Qing Dynasty, and are formed by Chongli Tower, Huanjian Pavilion, Liubei Pool, Qingwan Chamber, Quanxiang Chamber, Wuyun Pavilion, Xuetao Well, Yinshi Tower and Zhuojin Tower, etc. Among which, the most representative architecture is Chongli Pavilion, whose another name is Wangjiang Tower. It was built in the fifteenth year of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1889AD), the name came from the poem “Odes for the Shu Capital” of Zuo Si, a writer in the Jin Dynasty: “Being Splendid and beautiful, this is Chengdu indeed). It is 27.9 meters high, being famous for its grandness and beauty, it has become a symbolic architecture of Chengdu. The ancient architectures were built for Xue Tao, a female poet in the Tang Dynasty; It was rebuilt into the Wangjianglou Park in the Republic of China, being a famous place of interest in the city. Xue Tao (about 768-832AD), literary named Hongdu, was born in Chang’an (the current Xi’an); Together with Zhuo Wenjun, Madame Huarui and Huang E, were called the four talented women in Shu Kingdom. 90 poems of hers have come down until now, the delicate colorful letter paper made by her for poem- writing has been called “Xuetao paper” or “Huanhua paper”, at her time, people wrote poem to describe the paper as “ Huanhua paper has the same color as the peach flowers,” and “Yizhou is famous for its delicate and various letter papers”.
