To get to the Sant Sebastià de la Guarda Lighthouse, you have to climb a steep hill from the center of Calella de Palafrugell but then the descent to the town will compensate you for the effort. From there, you can enjoy impressive views of the coast, the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. The Sant Sebastià de la Guarda Lighthouse was built in 1857 and is one of the oldest on the Costa Brava. Currently, it is in disuse and has been converted into a tourist interpretation center that shows the history and importance of lighthouses in navigation.
