Socovos Castle, also known as Encomienda Castle, is a historical jewel that stands in the Sierra de Moratalla. It is located on the outskirts of the current town of Socovos, on a rock that overlooks the old town and next to the Old Church.
Inside, the remains of the church, the keep, the cistern to collect rainwater and even a dungeon are preserved.
Originally, the population was located on this elevation, but after the border danger receded, it moved to the valley.
