The sponsor of this Gothic-style construction was Mr Hias Bonnet, born in Dijon in 1804, died in 1873.
Former owner of the Champmonron farm which is located upstream from the gate.
He would have had this vestige installed at this place linking the priory of Bonvaux to his farm.
The devil figure is actually a Phrygian cap.
