The flooded forest is the result of a dam project to create a water reservoir and run a hydro-power plant. In this area, the original evergreen forest is now clustered by many waterarms, from which numerous trunks of dead trees emerge as silent remainders of the past landscape. It's as bizarre as interesting.
Now, the many openings in the forest offer the possibility to spot numerous birds in the morning and evening, either from the little frequented road, or by paddling with a boat either along the Namxot or Nam Theut river.
