Sitting Fisherman Statue Kappeln

Kappeln and fishing are closely connected. The "Seated Fisherman", who is currently sorting his catch, symbolizes this unit since 12.04.2003. The bronze sculpture was created by Jörg Plickat. It is a gift of the Rotary Club to the city of Kappeln.

There are more and more and they are distributed throughout the city. They bear the name of citizens who are involved with donations for a beautiful cityscape.

It used to be an everyday sight, today the bronze figure is a popular photo motif: the fisherman with a pipe in his mouth and a box of fish next to him is sitting very relaxed on a stone staircase in the Kappeln harbor. The seated fisherman was inaugurated on April 12, 2003 at the newly designed port of Kappeln. A very nice photo motif on the steppes.
