The sequoia decorates the overall picture of the church and the church square. It was planted around 50 years ago and has since become a formative element for the community.

The Taizé service has become established, but baptismal services on the Hase River or on farms are also popular in the community. An outdoor folding chair service is possible anywhere. Visitors only have to bring their own folding chair. And that works surprisingly well in the Bonnus community, says Dr. to report to Weissenborn.
The church was dedicated in 1907, the pastor at the time had been a missionary on the island of Hawaii and suggested the roof of the church be modeled on a boat or ship. The organist Michael Handschick sits directly under the roof and enthusiastically plays a digital organ that was inaugurated in 2022. The original tones were recorded and mapped on the keyboard. The digitally modeled pipes sound very pure. Neither dust nor insects can contaminate the sound. Mr. Handschick is enthusiastic about the sound and appreciates the many possible combinations of the digital organ.
The youth work is looking back on a big project. Deaconess Helena Moor developed a youth room together with the young people. They all planned, built and tinkered together until they finally reached their goal. The room is used by young people to play, drink tea, or just to meet together. Ms. Moor emphasizes: "Youth is not only the future, youth is also the present!"
Exactly the lively designed present makes the Bonnus community Bersenbrück.
