At this point (approx. 395 m above sea level) on the Stromberg slope, one would normally not find any water. The water that collects on the slope and flows down the valley as the Metter River collects in a small lake (Stellensee) about 1 km below this sign. A second source branch of the Metter River flows here, flowing down the slope a little further west.

From the lake, the Metter then flows eastward as a small stream and, after 28 km, empties into the Enz River in Bietigheim.
