Tips
This shady little square is a favorite with the local youth, as well as the LGBTQ crowd, who come here day and night to relax in the shade on one of the many benches. A large, central statue of Juan Pablo Duarte, father of Dominican independence, stands in the center of the park. A small grocery shop, a bicycle rental company and private homes are located around the square. Duarte Park gets especially lively at night, when crowds gather to have a cold beer or drink and play music on their guitars and drums.
