The Municipality of Montevideo offers an opportunity for a view from above 🔝 . In contrast to the Palacio Salvo, a guided tour is not necessary for this, but you can simply use one of the elevators (glass - even the ride is a little adventure) via the back entrance - completely free of charge. At the top there is a wonderful panoramic view of the entire old town of Montevideo.

In the entrance area there is a wonderful overview of the entire city - almost like a satellite image, i.e. entering the building from the front is definitely recommended.
