The church is located within the ancient village of Oliveto, located on a hill about three kilometers east of Monteveglio, from which one can admire sweeping views of the valley of the Samoggia stream. Leaning against the west side of the church is the bell tower, born as a defensive structure of the disappeared castle. The rectory occupies the position where one would expect to find the façade, which the church lacks following a planimetric modification which probably took place in the 18th century. The interior, which is accessed from the southern side, has a single nave with two small side chapels. The church, following some planimetric modifications that presumably took place in the 18th century, has no facade, as the rectory stands in its place. Access therefore takes place from the southern side, whose yellow plaster is damaged in several places. The northern side, in the middle of which a portion of the medieval walls of the village is visible, faces the slope of the hill and is partially covered by vegetation. The ancient bell tower overlooks the road, originally having a defensive function.
