The residents of Bublava needed a permit to leave the village and come back home.
Bublava was guarded by the 16th Border Police Company.
The prohibition zone was established along the border and all houses had to be demolished.
The border barrier was only formed with three wire fences.
The barrier was never electrified because East Germany was a friendly neighbor and in the 1960s it was removed.
Then the state border was only marked with boundary stones and today you rarely notice that you are in the neighboring country.
