From the cathedral in Hildesheim it goes through the city on the Steinbergstraße in the direction of Hildesheimer forest. First stop for rest and visit is the monastery Marienrode. From here it goes into the Hildesheimer forest - the company Bosch Blaupunkt - we are right. Continue on the Kammweg to Diekholzen. At the hospital and potash plant in the Beustertal. We see the ICE route, which then continues under us in the tunnel (Eichberg tunnel). Between the Haiberg and Linkberg, as well as the Hainholzberg we pass through a small stream valley to Nienstedt. Continue on the L 482 through the town Nienstedt and through the Feldmarkt in the place Eberholzen. > Bus connection RVHI line 51 to Gronau (L.) and on to Hildesheim Bus connection RVHI line 44 to Alfeld (L.) or Hildesheim. On the pass height Wernershöhe is a trail parking lot.

From Wernershöhe we continue to the Adenstedter Berg. Partly on Waldrandweg with beautiful views. Past the old forest sports field of Adenstedt, it goes along the edge of the forest. Above Irmenseul we can make a detour to the "Irminsäule". Back to the race track through the beautiful southern Sackwald on the Burkhardtshöhe over to the ruin Winzenburg. Here, too, we can make a detour over the Samesbuche to Hohe Schanze.

Then we hike back to Samesbuche turn right onto the road. After 300 meters turn right on the road. After 600 meters we reach the trail parking lot in the Ohlenburg on the L 488 between Lamspringe and Winzenburg.

Of course, we can also start the hike here and hike over the Rennstieg> Blaue Hödeken <to the cathedral in Hildesheim.

In the Southern Sackwald there are other historic castle ramparts. They are: "Die Tiebenburg" "The Wall at the Gartenkamp" "The Wall at the Dörhai" "The Ohlenburg" "The Läseckenburg" and "The Burg Hausfreden" All Burgwallanlagen are easy to reach from Winzenburg.
