The Georg von Siemens family lived in the castle from 1859 to 1945.
In 1870, Georg von Siemens became one of the founding directors of Deutsche Bank, and he served as spokesman for the board until 1900. During this time, Deutsche Bank developed into one of the most important large banks in Germany.

The grave of Georg von Siemens (✝️1901) is located in the Siemens crypt in the park of Schloss Ahlsdorf in the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg. The crypt was restored in 1994/95 on behalf of and with funds from Deutsche Bank.
