Location: Mönkloh, Kreis Segeberg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
Mönkloh, as the westernmost municipality in the Segeberg district, borders the Pinneberg and Steinburg districts in the "triangle". The district (total area 1252 ha) includes approx. 700 ha forest area, which is mainly planted with softwood. The forest around Mönkloh is a popular local recreational destination, including a forest educational trail. On the edge of the forest, surrounded by hundred-year-old beech trees, a small forest chapel was built by Mr. Jürgen Frese in 2001, which serves as a peaceful retreat for all believers as well as hikers and cyclists. The state forestry company Hasselbusch and the marl pits towards the Bramau valley are particularly pretty. The highest point, the "Butterberg" with its 33.2 m, is in the game reserve. Both in the local situation and in the Feldmark stands old and beautiful trees. Special specimens were identified as natural monuments.amt-bad-bramstedt-land.de/verzeichnis Objekt.php?mandat=79544
