Death Mountain is the place where the SS Truppen Ubungs Platz training ground was located, in the area of which a labor camp was established. Initially, it was a camp for French prisoners, and then also for Soviet prisoners. Initially, people who died or were shot were buried in mass graves, but after the outbreak of typhus and dysentery, the victims were burned on the cremation pyre.
