    Called by the Austro-Hungarians 'Werk Serrada' (Fort Serrada), from the name of the nearby village. It was part of the fortified belt of Folgaria close to the border between the Empire and the Kingdom of Italy (today the border between Veneto and Trentino), against the opposite Italian forts: in particular, from the strategic position on which it was built, it had to block access to the enemy in the border stretch between the Val d'Astico and the Passo della Borcola, until it could hit the Pasubio.

    Like other forts in this area, it was the object of intense bombing already in the first days of the conflict, coming out damaged but not destroyed; it was demolished by the salvagers' operations between the two wars, to extract the steel beams contained in the structure. For this reason, today the building appears seriously compromised and can only be visited from the outside, while the interior is unstable and at risk of collapse.
