Stone church of St. According to legend, St. Michael's was built at the instigation of St. Methodius, who was to personally consecrate it. Supposedly in a place where a pine tree planted with its roots upwards took over. It used to be called the church "U Sedmi borů" precisely because of the trees that seemed to grow with their roots up. However, he took the last of them as his own in 1976. The church is mainly an early Gothic nave, probably from the first half of the 13th century. In the second half of the 13th century, the nave was raised and the present form of the four-sided chancel was created.
In 1645, the Swedes were supposed to burn the priest in the church. Under the floor of the temple, 13 skeletons were found in the presbytery and another 40 in the nave, one measuring 210 cm! The church was repaired in 1661 and thoroughly in 1967. The most valuable monuments inside the church are the stone baptismal font from the middle of the 13th century (120 cm high and 68 cm wide at the top) and the canteen from the original stone altar, which today is walled up behind the baptismal font. The frescoes, dating from about the middle of the 14th century, were uncovered in 1949 and restored in 1967 and most recently in 2005. They depict the Entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus, the Ascension, the Last Judgment, Christ the Almighty and other scenes from passions.
The younger bell on the tower was cast in 1535 by Adam from Meziříčí, the second one is a century older. Several interesting stones have been preserved in the church. There are beautiful views of the surroundings from the Vítochov church. One episode of the TV series Memory of the Trees and also the song Mrtví from the TV movie Solstice were filmed here.
