Although it's sometimes referred to as Lunch Creek Falls, the official Forest Service name for this forest cascade is Lunch Falls. Once you cross over Lunch Creek on a bridge the trail is mostly boardwalk.

Keep an eye out for black bears, here and elsewhere along the trail. The bears are often drawn to the creek in search of fish, but may also graze in the forest.

The walk to Lunch Creek Falls may be short, but the payoff is big: This beautiful waterfall is a very popular destination for day hikes. You can follow the bridge across the river for a walking or running loop that eventually brings you back to the falls again, or backtrack and turn right to join the Lunch Creek Trail for a longer hike up to its headwaters at Lake Emery Tobin.
