Hausen is a district of the Lower Franconian municipality of Schonungen in the Schweinfurt district.
The first known documentary mention of the place comes from the year 1194. In 1305 the place went to the Lords of Henneberg. In 1356 the parish of Hausen was established. The construction of the choir tower of the parish church is documented for the 15th century. From 1542 Hausen went with the office of Mainberg to the bishop of Würzburg. Since 1625, Hausen was plagued by Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War and by French troops in 1796 during the Second Margrave War.

In 1906 the local school was built; In 1927 the central water supply followed. In February 1944, Hausen was badly damaged by bombing during World War II. On May 1, 1978, Hausen became part of Schonungen as part of the municipal area reform.
