The climb is worth it for the sweeping views of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The deep bowl like landscape is named the Devil's Kneading Trough. The area to the south west is a National Nature Reserve. It's hard to find a better place to stop and catch your breath.
