Contrà Sega (abandoned hamlet)

An entire ancient district in ruins, abandoned around 1950, which must have been rather industrious and organized judging by the size of the buildings and the complexity of the structures: a fascinating and decadent spectacle.At first, an imposing four-story building, crumbling and entangled in vegetation.In the lower part, towards the river, the remains of a mallet, a workshop for working wrought iron: the structure is still standing and it is possible to understand the engineering and functioning of the machine; at the foot, the massive wheel with paddles that activated the hammer by exploiting the force of the water. Outside, just outside the door, a large vat of stones allowed the red-hot iron to be tempered.Next to the stream, an ancient washhouse and an ancient bread oven.
