Following the Gunflint Tower Spur trail 0.75 miles from the Centennial Trail, you will find the remnants of the Gunflint Wildfire Tower. This tower was once used by rangers in the area to monitor for forest fires. Ironically, the cabin and tower burned down in a fire, and were replaced with more modern monitoring technology.
