Hiking

Nowadays they are mostly only monuments of a long tradition of craftsmanship, but sometimes they are still in operation: The heavy millstones were moved solely with the power of the wind as driving energy and, for example, grain grains were ground into flour (grain mills) or oil was pressed from olive fruits (oil mills ). Sometimes the windmills also functioned as a pumping station, transporting water to higher ground to drain a swampy area.

Hiking

On most Saturdays during the holiday period, a mill is running with volunteers who explain the equipment of the mill. The adjacent museum 'Oud Ark' is also open and offers many old devices and tools to view.
