Stützengrün is located in the border region between the Ore Mountains and the Vogtland. There is a ski lift in the Unterstützengrün district. The lift operation is ensured by the local ski club, which always prepares the ski slopes well and provides up-to-date information on the Internet. It is the only ski slope in the region northwest of the Eibenstock dam.
