A 26 hectare high moor lake, very rare in Germany, the moor is still growing here. From the observation tower, the patient observer will discover almost untouched nature with rare bird and plant species. Various peat mosses, cotton grass, rosemary heather, bell heather, cranberry and white schnabelried are just a few examples of the plant species you can see. The Lengen Sea was placed under nature protection as early as 1984.
In winter, the Lengen Sea and the Stapeler Moor are increasingly visited by water birds such as teals, spoonbills and mallards, as well as gray and state geese.

The Lengener Meer can be seen from the tower.
The path's narrow cycle lane is easy to ride on even when the ground is very dry.
