Tips
The first castle was built in the 12th century. The castle got its present form in the 17th century, it was built as a moated castle with bastions on three corners.During World War II it served as a horse hospital. In 1970 a private owner bought it who renovated it and sold it to the Katzenlsdorf community in 1993. They converted it into an event and seminar center, and it also houses a leased restaurant

Katzelsdorf Castle was first mentioned in documents in 1183. It has a varied history with many owners, including Countess of Lipona, sister of Napoleon I, Duchess of Angouleme, daughter of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, among others.
During World War II, there was a horse hospital here.
