This challenging section of trail takes you up the steep side of Griffith Peak past a winter avalanche chute. Surrounded by steep limestone cliffs, the trail switchbacks up through a large grove of quaking aspen trees and offers stunning views of the valley below. These trees are especially beautiful in the fall when the aspen leaves change from a vibrant green to deep shades of orange and gold.
